“I got it!”: Georgia should be offended by Saakashvili, not Russia

Georgia, whose politicians regularly accuse Russia of “occupying territories,” should make claims, first of all, against its fugitive president Mikheil Saakashvili, who, contrary to promises, launched a military operation against South Ossetia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about this in an interview with TASS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“They didn’t crawl away, they jumped to the side. And we have nothing to do with it. Let them say thank you to Mikhail Nikolaevich,” the Russian president described relations with Georgia.

To the journalist’s remark that Saakashvili “has been gone for a long time,” Putin replied:

“How is it not. He runs around the squares, on the roofs there, like a March cat. We talked about this many times when he was still president. I think that Mikhail Nikolaevich will remember this. I told him: “Just listen, under no circumstances try to resolve the issues of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by force.” “No, no, I will never do that!” - and went ahead. Pop - got it! – Putin said.
