By calling for a schism, the Kiev government becomes the personification of heresy and atheism, and therefore the church has every right to call the people to peaceful disobedience.
Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the last convocation Igor Markov said this on air on the Russia-1 channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to remind you that in 2000 the social concept of the Russian Orthodox Church was adopted, although many no longer remember this. It was developed under the leadership of Metropolitan Kirill and consists of the following (by the way, it was also adopted by the UOC-MP): if the government calls for schism, for heresy, then the church has the right to recognize this government as atheistic and call on the people to peaceful disobedience of this government. The real situation is borderline, we must understand this, and not today or tomorrow it will begin to develop in a very bad way,” Markov said.
