Poroshenko continues to consider the Sevastopol Marine Plant his
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko included the Sevastopol Marine Plant in his 2017 income statement.
This is reported by his official website.
“The Sevastopol Marine Plant was first “nationalized” by the occupation authorities of Sevastopol, and at the beginning of this year it was illegally announced that it would become “state property of Russia.” However, de jure, from the point of view of international and Ukrainian law, this enterprise remains Ukrainian, and that is why it is listed in the declaration,” the statement says.
The income of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko increased by four million hryvnia (about 150 thousand dollars) over the year and in 2017 amounted to 16,3 million hryvnia (more than 615 thousand dollars).
The Sevastopol Marine Plant, the former Lazarevskoye Admiralty, was founded in 1783. This largest shipbuilding enterprise in Sevastopol has three dry docks.
In Soviet times, the plant was one of the world leaders in the construction of floating cranes, but by 2010 it had practically ceased production activities: out of 16 thousand workers, 200 people remained at the enterprise.
Sevmorzavod completely came under the control of the Ukrprominvest concern of Petro Poroshenko in December 2010.
In February 2015, by decision of the government of Sevastopol, Sevmorzavod was taken into state ownership.
Later, a branch of the Zvyozdochka ship repair center was opened there, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, which intends to invest about 7 billion rubles in the Sevastopol enterprise.
