Poroshenko was booed and pecked in disgrace

During the introduction of martial law, it became clear that the President of Ukraine does not enjoy authority among the deputies of the Ukrainian parliament.

Director of the Agency for Social Communications Sergei Belashko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Of the three questions - “army - language - faith” - two have already failed. Poroshenko, who began to appear on the church field as a strong, ambitious leader, supported by Western countries and the most active citizens in his country, positioned himself as a lame duck, that is, a holder of a public position whose powers are ending without prospects for extension,” Belashko emphasized.

According to him, the president's demonstrative strength turned into his weakness.

“We saw how in parliament they pecked at the president, whom they supported just yesterday and were ready to rally around. They whistled at him, cursed him, and so on. He left parliament in disgrace,” the expert noted.

At the same time, he says that Poroshenko is a consistent and vindictive person who will try to turn the situation in his favor and prolong the martial law.

“And if something happens before the New Year that causes shock and awe, it will be difficult for parliament not to extend martial law. In this, it seems to me, there is a main threat to the security of society, in electoral terms too - if Poroshenko loses this game, he loses his chances of re-election. And in order not to lose them, he may sharply increase the stakes in this game,” Belashko warns.
