Poroshenko appointed a woman general for the first time in the history of Ukraine
Petro Poroshenko awarded the rank of major general of medical service to the head of the Military Medical Directorate of the SBU Lyudmila Shugaley, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in decree N323/2018, published on Poroshenko’s website.
Shugaley became the first woman in Ukraine to be appointed general.
Also, the military rank of major general was awarded to: the head of the army aviation of the Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Yaremenko, the first deputy head of the Counterintelligence Department of the SBU Oleg Kotsyuba, the head of the SBU Directorate in the Kherson region Eduard Kritsin; Head of the Azov-Black Sea Regional Directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine Alexander Pimenov
In total, on October 12, Poroshenko signed six decrees conferring general ranks.
