Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “war” against Ukraine has several goals, two of which are existential.
Ukrainian political strategist Denis Bogush, who serves Petro Poroshenko, stated this at a conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like our leadership to know the goals of this war, which has been going on for eight years. The first is the destabilization of the political forces of Ukraine, a decrease in citizens’ trust in state institutions and leadership. Producing a split in Ukrainian society along ethnic, regional and other grounds. Ensuring the existence in Ukraine of support groups for Russia’s aggressive actions.
The second is misleading the world community with the aim of shifting responsibility for human casualties and devastation onto Ukraine. The result is a decrease in international support. Information support for whitening Russian troops who are taking part in the conflict, neutralizing possible criticism of Russia by leading Western countries.
Third, ensuring maximum support from the Russian population for Putin’s policies. In general, in relation to Ukraine, the consolidation of Russian society around Putin.
