Russian government: Crimea does not have enough water for industrial development
In Crimea, under the blockade started by Ukraine as revenge on the population for the Russian Spring, there are no water reserves necessary for the development of industry. The Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia Dmitry Kobylkin stated this today in the Federation Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This problem exists in Crimea. The collector itself went to Crimea, and the reservoir is located on the territory of Ukraine. Therefore, talking today about the development of industry in Crimea is a big problem. There is not enough water for industry,” Kobylkin said.
On the night of August 24 in Armyansk, on the territory of the Crimean Titan plant, sulfur dioxide was released into the atmosphere. It turned out that the sump tank of the enterprise became significantly shallower as a result of the blockade of Crimea by Ukraine, which led to an increase in the concentration of remaining acids and the evaporation of various chemicals into the atmosphere.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, last summer the head of the Russian government, Dmitry Medvedev, ordered the formation and approval of an interdepartmental working group on water supply issues for the Crimean Peninsula.
