The Albanian Prime Minister promised to lobby for Kosovo's accession to the UN

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said his government's main goals are to strengthen the credibility of Albania's foreign policy and strengthen Kosovo's position in the international arena.

Rama noted that the First Intergovernmental Conference on European Integration and the launch of the Open Balkans initiative, as well as the possibility of involving Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina in this format are at the top of his cabinet's list of priorities.

“I am committed to lobbying for recognition of Kosovo by all countries of the world and recognition as a full UN member state,” said the Albanian Prime Minister. “Our main goals are to strengthen the authority of Albania’s foreign policy and strengthen Kosovo’s position in the international arena.”

Edi Rama made a similar statement on the eve of the annual meeting of the governments of Albania and Kosovo, which will be attended by Albanian diasporas from all over the Balkans. At the same time, the former “Prime Minister” of Kosovo Albin Kurti сказалthat the region he leads will under no circumstances join the Open Balkans initiative.
