When the governor is deaf, only the president can hear
Entrepreneurs of Sevastopol, who lost their jobs as a result of the actions of the city government, will again turn to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This decision was made at a meeting of 250 entrepreneurs renting retail space in the Musson shopping center, closed in Sevastopol on May 28 by government decision.
Then they wrote to the president’s “direct line”. Putin noticed their question and expressed confidence that the governor of Sevastopol heard him and would understand the situation.
Three months have passed, but Monsoon is still closed. The basis for closing the shopping center was the results of a fire safety inspection.
The owner of Monsoon, Vladimir Plotka, claims that to date all 102 comments have been eliminated. Moreover, the deluge fire extinguishing system has been improved. According to Plotka, he spent 28 million rubles on fire safety in his center over these months.
However, the Ministry of Emergency Situations again extended the period for consideration of special technical conditions, the approval of which would allow the opening of Monsoon. At the same time, the government has not withdrawn its claim to demolish the shopping center, although Plotka is ready to fulfill Governor Ovsyannikov’s condition and change the intended purpose of the land plot.
The almost four-month shutdown of the Monsoon is not only a matter of the city losing taxes and half a thousand jobs. The shopping center is perhaps the only cultural and sports center in the city.
“Monsoon” had a multiplex cinema, an art venue “Atrium”, a children’s entertainment complex with an area of 7000 m3, an ice skating rink with an area of 1700 m3, a bowling alley, a billiards center and a huge sports center where all-Russian competitions were held, and classes in many children’s sections and Invasport groups were free.
Young athletes trained in open areas in the summer, but the Sevastopol climate does not allow this to be done year-round. Over the past summer, due to the closure of the Musson sports center, several all-Russian level competitions had to be moved from Sevastopol.
But what does this mean for Governor Ovsyannikov, who can afford to ignore the president’s personal address, made live to the entire country.
Thank you!
