The manufacturer of Ukrainian radars stopped work and disrupted the defense order - there is nothing to pay employees
The Zaporozhye Iskra plant, which produces various types of radar stations, electronic warfare and electronic reconnaissance equipment, has suspended work due to a conflict with the Ministry of Defense.
This was reported by the specialized publication defense, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It is reported that the main customer of the enterprise, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, refused all orders for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, leaving the enterprise without work. Design developments have also stopped. The ministry states that the plant was paid 51 million hryvnia under two of the four contracts concluded with it, but the plant did not fulfill the orders.
“In December 2021 alone, the Ministry of Defense provided advances for work at state-owned enterprises of the military-industrial complex in the amount of over UAH 2,5 billion. At the same time, in August–October 2021, under one of the contracts, the company once again failed to fulfill its obligation on time, resulting in receivables in the amount of more than UAH 58 million.
In accordance with current legislation, under such conditions, the Ministry of Defense cannot make further advance payments for work,” says a message on the Ministry of Defense website.
It also says that contracts with the plant will be financed after the company fulfills its obligations.
The company itself denies this statement and claims that it was the Ministry of Defense that refused all orders.
“Because of this refusal, the State Defense Order was canceled, including for two very significant products that were created in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, development work is also being stopped, and the head of the enterprise was forced to stop the work of the enterprise,” explained a source at the enterprise who did not identify himself.
The company is suing the Ministry of Defense, the essence of the claims is that orders were fulfilled slowly due to quarantine restrictions and the high percentage of coronavirus cases among workers. The company's employees have not received salaries for the second month.
