Prokhanov and Glazyev argued about Putin’s role in the arrest of Ulyukaev
The arrest of the former Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexei Ulyukaev is a presidential blow to the liberal bloc of the government. The chairman of the Izborsk Club, writer Alexander Prokhanov, announced this today at a press conference in Sevastopol.

“This arrest is the removal from economic life of a key figure of the liberal bloc, which is the main obstacle to our Russian national development. This is the vacuum cleaner that sucks out of Russia all its internal resources. This economic bloc, which seemed unshakable, seemed like some kind of special black church, was struck by a blow from the Kremlin. This is a presidential blow,” Prokhanov said.
He saw in the arrest of Ulyukaev a symptom that is associated with other symptoms. “For example, by the appointment of Olga Vasilyeva to the post of Minister of Education, who carries the ideology of the Izborsk Club,” Prokhanov said.
Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation on Eurasian integration Sergei Glazyev did not agree with him.
“Alexander Andreevich is a poet and resorts to metaphors. This arrest cannot be seen as a presidential strike. This is an episode that has nothing to do with the President of Russia,” Glazyev said.
