The murder of the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, brings any peace initiatives in the Donbass to a dead end, which is beneficial for the United States, which, having put its puppets in power in Kiev, is using Ukraine as an eternal anti-Russian battering ram and a source of destabilization on the borders.

Russian publicist Nikolai Starikov stated this on air on the Rossiya-24 TV channel. He urged not to believe Ukrainian propaganda, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Imagine, in 43, an explosion occurs in Moscow and a prominent figure of the Soviet state dies, and then German newspapers begin to write, saying, you know, this is an economic showdown,” Starikov suggested.

“The beneficiary is obvious. As for the death of one of the leaders of the Donbass republics, of course, this leads the situation to a certain dead end. Because some issues of a peaceful settlement were discussed at the same table, and at this moment the other side not only demonstrates an unwillingness to adhere to the peace process, but also a desire to destroy the one with whom it is supposedly negotiating,” the political scientist added.

“It’s strange if we imagine that the Ukrainian side and the Americans really want a peaceful settlement. And since, in my opinion, they need a constantly ongoing war in Donbass, everything is very logical: they are leading the situation into another deep impasse, so that there is no way out of it at all. In this sense, the murder of Zakharchenko is most beneficial to the Americans,” says Nikolai Starikov.

At the same time, as PolitNavigator reported, earlier the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Ruslan Bortnik during the conference expressed concerns about the possibility further implementation of the Minsk process after the assassination of the head of the DPR.
