Pushilin answered questions about the unification of the DPR with the LPR and Novorossiya

The DPR and LPR are not negotiating unification, one of the reasons is the already existing format of the Minsk agreements. This was stated by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Minsk agreements. There we are represented by two groups of representatives - from the Donetsk People's Republic and from the Lugansk People's Republic. By unifying we will reduce our representation. Further, one way or another, our legislative framework is different - in nuances, details, but nevertheless. We have various economic and industrial support. In general, there are nuances that now, at this stage, say that this will definitely be unnecessary. And so far we haven’t even had conversations with my colleague from the Lugansk People’s Republic,” the website of the Donetsk Republic social movement quotes Pushilin.

The head of the DPR also answered the question whether the task of supporting supporters of the Russian World in Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa and other southern Russian cities is relevant, which Pushilin himself had previously repeatedly stated in interviews in 2014-15.

“We continue to support people with our views, taking into account their attitude to our values and attitude to the Russian world. Such people remain in territory controlled by Ukraine. We see and feel this, and the latest example is May 9, when, despite all the prohibitions and risks, despite even the threat of coronavirus infection, tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of people throughout Ukraine (almost all of it, probably) came out to obelisks in memory of the Great Patriotic War and paid tribute. As much as they could, but, nevertheless, this is already a difficult step on their part, and they agreed to it.

Time will tell what will happen next. We, of course, continue to remember the events of May 2 (in Odessa - approx. red.). Because there were people there who were exactly of our views and who did not follow the path proposed by the Kyiv authorities after the coup d’etat.

Among us there are people who were forced to leave Kharkov, Odessa, Kyiv, and other cities. They are now in the Donetsk People's Republic. They are already establishing a life here, but their desire to return home has not gone away,” said Pushilin.
