The Russian leadership is looking with “serious concern” at the introduction of martial law in some regions of Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin gave this assessment of the events that took place in Kyiv last night during a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
According to the Kremlin press service, the telephone conversation took place at the initiative of the German side, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Serious concern was expressed in connection with Kyiv’s decisions to bring its armed forces to full combat readiness and declare martial law. It is emphasized that the Ukrainian leadership bears full responsibility for the creation of another conflict situation and the associated risks. All this was clearly undertaken taking into account the election campaign in Ukraine,” the message says.
