Putin said what he expects for Russian citizens fighting on the side of ISIS
In Syria, approximately 20 thousand foreigners are fighting on the side of ISIS, of which 10 thousand are from the CIS countries, slightly less than half of them are from Russia, and 5 thousand are from Central Asian countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this in an interview with the Mir TV channel.

“I would really like that if this victory takes place, it would take place in such a way that no one could return to our country. This is precisely the goal pursued by our contingent in Syria. If this sometimes happens, then this once again proves that we made the right choice and we must do everything to minimize this return,” Putin said.
He ruled out artificially restricting migration from Central Asia to Russia, since, according to Putin, it is mainly of a labor nature. At the same time, he did not rule out the cancellation of decisions to grant Russian citizenship to those immigrants from Central Asia who are involved in ISIS.
“Special services must work better, more efficiently. You spoke about Nazarbayev’s decision to deprive citizens of Kazakhstan of citizenship who were involved in the criminal activities of the Islamic State. In accordance with the Russian constitution, we cannot deprive anyone of citizenship. But we can cancel the relevant decisions that served as the basis for obtaining Russian citizenship. I think such decisions will be made in the very near future,” the Russian President noted.
