Putin believes that Zelensky can be useful
Certain positive steps by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky leave hope that the military will not return to the sites of disengagement of forces and equipment in Donbass.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this during the “Russia Calling” forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I have no relationship with Zelensky. I don't know him and haven't seen him. We talked on the phone. It seems to me that he is a nice person, sincere. In my opinion, he really wants to change the situation for the better, including in Donbass.
I don’t yet know to what extent he is able to do this, although he has taken certain positive steps. I mean the disengagement of forces and equipment in two settlements, although yesterday the military reported to me about shelling from the Ukrainian side. Still, I hope that there will be no return (of the military – editor’s note) to these gray zones,” Putin said.
