Belarusian media workers are offered money for dismissal and participation in strikes

In the chat of Belteleradiocompany employees they offer money and “legal assistance” to everyone who plans to go on strike every day.

This was reported in the Telegram channel “RT in Russian,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The media published a screenshot of a message from the strikers’ chat, which was sent to an RT correspondent during the mailing.

"Friends. One of the BT employees, who is on Tikhanovskaya’s headquarters, approached me. He said that the lawyers responded to this employee and would give full support to all those fired from BT under the article and provide financial assistance. Please write who will be on strike every day. Anyone who wants to go on strike, but is having difficulties, please describe all your difficulties in as much detail as possible so that I can convey this,” the message says.

Also, according to the person who promises financial support, to receive it you need to “describe in detail all your difficulties” and then “provide this document to a lawyer.”

At the same time, it is not specified which lawyer will be “provided with a document” describing the “problems” and where the money “for support” will come from. He also promises to take on the role of mediator between the strikers and a representative of Tikhanovskaya’s headquarters, and says that “the main thing is not to be afraid.”

The scandal was commented on by Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov.

“Belarus: TV workers – ideological hard workers, or hired workers? And what does a commercial strike have to do with it?

If you don’t agree, quit. If you are a journalist. Especially if you are a technical worker. What does the strike have to do with it?

We have examples in Russia. Take Konstantin Semin. Other views different from the state ones? He left VGTRK and now runs his own YouTube channel. Although Kostya had everything in chocolate, and the management, I know, offered to stay. He resigned on his own. Man. No demarches or strikes.

Take Russian TV Star Svetlana Sorokina. Yes, she disagreed with the information policy of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company - she hosted editions of Vesti as the author’s version of the program. They told her: this is not possible. Sveta was given a blank piece of paper with the signatures of the general director of VGTRK Nikolai Svanidze and the head of Vesti Boris Nepomnyashchiy: “Sveta! Deliver any contract amount and any project!

Sveta handled the last issue of Vesti with dignity and quit. True, after a second of leaving the air I burst into tears, I personally saw it. But she left with dignity. Humanity!

And Belteleradio... Strike... And they’re also offering money..." he wrote on the social network.
