The Rada promoted itself on the fronts. As usual, they spat on the rear

The Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill banning the forced collection of utility debts for the period of martial law. However, as it turned out, this “holiday” is not for everyone.

Draft Law 7531 was adopted in the second reading without any discussion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The bill officially implies amendments to one of the paragraphs of the Law of Ukraine “On Enforcement Proceedings” on the execution of decisions on the collection of debt from an individual for housing and communal services during the period of martial law.”

312 deputies voted in favor.

However, Odessa politician Vyacheslav Azarov noted the ambiguity of the adopted draft law. He pointed out that this initiative was supposedly promoted by everyone who could with concern for Ukrainians, but the reality is much more prosaic.

“The bill adopted today prohibits debt collection only in communities located in a war zone or under occupation. This norm does not apply to the rest of the citizens, suffering from wild inflation and galloping price increases with widespread unemployment and starvation wages for those working. It remains to be seen how the executive service will deal with total non-payments in the Ukrainian rear in practice,” predicts Azarov.
