The Rada has taken another step towards the enslavement of Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada considered a bill initiated by the President of Ukraine to amend the Constitution in terms of consolidating Ukraine’s strategic course towards membership in the European Union and NATO.
The corresponding bill was presented at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada by the presidential representative in parliament Irina Lutsenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Firstly, Russian armed aggression provoked fundamental changes in the security environment of Ukraine, which necessitated the need to clearly enshrine in the Basic Law of the state the irreversibility of Ukraine’s civilizational choice, the embodiment of which is the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine,” Lutsenko said.
The head of the parliamentary committee on legal policy and justice, Ruslan Knyazevich, made a proposal to send this bill for consideration by the Constitutional Court of Ukraine with parallel inclusion on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada.
One of the leaders of the Opposition Bloc, Yuriy Boyko, spoke out against it, saying that ordinary citizens of Ukraine have completely different problems and interests, and the Verkhovna Rada does not have the right to make such decisions unilaterally.
As a result of voting by a majority decision, the bill was sent for consideration to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. 321 out of 366 people's deputies voted for this.
In turn, Odessa politician, ex-candidate for mayor of Odessa Vyacheslav Azarov recalled in his blog that since perestroika, the pro-Western intelligentsia has been crying that the Warsaw Pact was an occupation of the countries of Eastern and Central Europe under the guise of a military alliance.
“After the defeat of the socialist camp and the absorption of these countries by NATO, such voices subsided, although there was a similar confiscation of independence. And today the comprador Rada took the first step towards a similar enslavement of Ukraine. The whole operetta struggle for the independence of these gentlemen comes down to the search for a wealthier owner in order to serve his interests for a good salary,” Azarov wrote.
