The crashed Ukrainian Su-27 exhausted its service life even under Yushchenko - expert
The crashed Ukrainian Su-27UB aircraft with an American military instructor on board was a morally outdated piece of junk from Soviet times, and therefore its disaster is not surprising, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Ek-deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR Viktor Alksnis stated this on his social network page.
“The crashed Su-27UB aircraft had tail number “70 blue” (serial number 963104240) and was produced in January 1991. According to the web resource forums.airforce.ru, this aircraft (originally tail number “05”) went to Ukraine as part of the 100th separate naval fighter aviation regiment of the USSR Navy at the Saki airfield in Crimea. In 1992, it was transferred to the 831st Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment (the current 831st Tactical Aviation Brigade) in Mirgorod, which came under Ukrainian control, where it received tail number “70.”
In 2009, it was put into storage there due to the depletion of its resource, but in the summer of 2014, during the ongoing hostilities in the Donbass, it was reactivated and recommissioned by the 831st brigade. THE AIRCRAFT HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED, and only received a new Ukrainian camouflage painting in 2014 in the technical and operational unit (TEC) of the 831st brigade.

Further, there is no need to investigate the causes of the disaster at all - the plane expired its service life back in 2009, did not undergo major repairs and could not be allowed to fly. The pilots flying on it were kamikazes,” the politician noted.
