“Cut the Minsk knot” – in Kyiv they started talking about the autumn offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbass

A hint from Germany about the need to implement the “Steinmeier formula”, in view of its impracticability for Kyiv, could push Ukraine to break the Minsk agreements and resume large-scale aggression in the Donbass.

Ukrainian political expert Ruslan Bizyaev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Everyone understands that in light of recent events, the Minsk process is in approximately the same state as it was in the fall of 2016. That is, the problem is not to implement the “Steinmeier formula” into our legislation, the problem is how to implement it, what it will lead to.

The implementation of the formula is actually a recognition that Kyiv must conduct a dialogue with Donetsk and Lugansk. I have not yet heard a single official statement from our negotiating group that would say that we are ready for such a concept.

Yes, you can put pressure (on Kyiv from the West - ed.) But as experience shows, this pressure simply leads to half-hearted decisions being made that do not lead to the most important thing - to results,” argues Bizyaev.

“The Minsk process that we are now seeing is a Gordian knot. Of course, you can try to untie it, but it seems to me that you will have to cut it. And in light of these events, I do not rule out that in the fall there will be an aggravation in the Donbass, not media, but, unfortunately, military,” the expert predicts ominously.
