Russia does not need the lifting of Western sanctions; unfriendly measures from the EU and the US often only helped Russian producers and forced officials to solve long-standing problems.
Viktor Ivanter, scientific director of the Institute of National Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If the sanctions are lifted, it will be a blow not only to agriculture. The stories that the real investor left Russia are a lie! Who exactly left, leaving everything behind?
As for the technology, Siemens and other companies work with us. We purchase the necessary equipment not in Europe, but in Asia - in China and South Korea.
Sanctions do not pose any hindrance to Russia. Do you think we received Western loans for free? Minus $20 billion a year!
The most difficult problem is the severing of economic chains with Ukraine. Consider that you have overcome it,” the expert said.
Ivanter added that today sanctions often serve as an excuse for the failures of officials.
“But our economic bosses have only one excuse for everything: the Americans are interfering with them,” the scientist said.
“There’s a saying: “If a system doesn’t work well, a billion dollars won’t help it.” A billion dollars will only create a billion problems.” There can be no universal recipe in economics. The logic: foreign investment has been cut off for us, and now it’s all over – unacceptable.
