Russian mobile operators condone Ukrainian telephone scammers – Khinshtein
Entire factories of telephone scammers, who lure money from Russians, operate in Ukraine.
Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Khinshtein stated this in the YouTube channel of the Parliamentary Newspaper, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today we are faced with the activities of entire organized groups. They are located not only and not so much on the territory of our country. Colleagues from law enforcement agencies record the existence of entire factories of 200-400 people, up to a thousand people.
They are usually located in states bordering us. There are a lot of them in Ukraine, where, for obvious reasons, the authorities do not interfere with their work. They call our citizens and try to defraud them of their hard-earned money,” Khinshtein said.
In his opinion, mobile operators are responsible for the fact that fraudsters from Ukraine manage to call Russia.
“Those fraudulent phone calls that come from neighboring states are spoofed numbers. They are included in the network here under the numbers of the Moscow region. Of course, the telecom operator sees this. He cannot but understand that a call from Ukraine cannot go through this code. This is a replacement number. He is obliged to block it,” Khinshtein said.
