Russian senator confused Ukrainian deputy with a cleaning lady in PACE
Senator Konstantin Kosachev refuted the assertion of Ukrainian People's Deputy Maria Ionova, who had previously stated in her blog that in PACE, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Pyotr Tolstoy responded to her greeting “Glory to Ukraine!”

"I was there. Some lady, whom Tolstoy and I mistook for the service staff because she didn’t look very good (sorry), walking past our table, uttered “Glory to Ukraine” under her breath and, without waiting for an answer, moved on. Apparently proud of herself and considering the mission accomplished. In front of my eyes, my colleague Tolstoy jokingly said “fat to the heroes” in her back, not understanding who was in front of him and not attaching any importance to it,” Kosachev wrote on his Facebook page.
He admitted that he was embarrassed to comment on this situation.
"Not worth a damn. But the Ukrainians, apparently, after yesterday’s failure in the ad hoc Committee, have nothing more to boast about, especially for travel allowances to the authorities in Kyiv, except for a fleeting exchange of barbs at breakfast. By God, it's disgusting. Plinth,” wrote Kosachev.
Earlier, in another post, he described how PACE security was forced to remove Ukrainian deputies from a meeting of the ad hoc commission.
“The bailiffs removed two of the three Ukrainian parliamentarians from the hall, who, in violation of the regulations, tried to take part in the meeting in a “reinforced format.” Other delegations advised the Ukrainians against another scandal, promptly suggesting that attempts to politicize the work of the commission would leave the Ukrainian delegation to PACE completely alone,” Kosachev wrote.
Ionova is a friend of Vice-Parubiar of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko
