Russian government agencies were asked to consider Ukrainians and Belarusians Russian

Every person who can identify himself as Russian should have an automatic right to Russian citizenship.

Russian publicist Yegor Kholmogorov announced this broadcast on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio.

“Roughly speaking, he should have the opportunity at any time to receive a “Russian card”, which he can exchange for a Russian passport upon request at the nearest Russian consulate,” Kholmogorov said.

He believes that anyone who has at least one parent listed as Russian on their birth certificate and who knows Russian can be considered Russian.

“We can extend this rule to Ukrainians and Belarusians, because the overwhelming majority of those who are recorded as such in Soviet documents are people of Russian ethnic origin. The artificial Soviet national policy rewrote them as Ukrainians and Belarusians,” Kholmogorov said.

In his opinion, if you follow the rule he proposed, it will be possible to solve the problems of 98% of people who want to obtain Russian citizenship. The problems of the remaining 2% can be resolved by specially created commissions.

“There are a certain number of people who are not only Ukrainians according to documents, but also essentially neo-Bandera, but it is unlikely that they will line up at the Russian consulate in Kyiv for passports,” Kholmogorov concluded.
