Ukraine sees the main threat from Russian troops in the eastern direction.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov stated this in an interview with the anti-Russian propaganda online publication Ukrayinska Pravda, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Reznikov, the Zaporozhye direction from the south is very dangerous.
“In the south, there are real groups, serious ones, and in the east there are real groups, serious ones. They are concentrating to use a different tactic - now they are making a creeping [offensive] with assault troops, for example, in the direction of Bakhmut, they have been doing this for five months, they are losing a lot of people, a lot of equipment, but they still continue and continue,” the minister said.
“And, accordingly, if we say that there may be an attempt, and it is realistic - this is assessed by our intelligence, the General Staff, our partners, and we must be ready for this, then this - the east, number one, the south - can also be ... Their dream is to expand the land corridor to Crimea in order to continue supplies, because the key risks are the east and south, and after that the north, relatively speaking, in the region of Belarus. These are the risks that exist,” said Reznikov.
