Russia puts an end to Ukrainian sanctions against Crimea
The Crimean Bridge, which will be put into operation today, is a symbol of victory over sanctions. Deputy from Sevastopol Dmitry Belik stated this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
He recalled the energy, food and transport blockades that Ukraine imposed on Crimea.
“Today we put an end to these sanctions, because today the Crimean Bridge, a unique infrastructure structure, will be opened. Today we are adopting a package of bills that demonstrate that Russia has adapted and can live under sanctions, implementing not only infrastructure, but also large breakthrough technological projects,” Belik said.
He believes that the bridge is also a symbol of unification and not only in the physical sense.
“There is the Great Wall of China. But she disconnects. And the Crimean Bridge is a symbol of unification, reunification and peace. After all, in 2014 everything went peacefully for us. The bridge is a symbol of reunification because Russia has reconnected with its history. This is a bridge to the place of baptism of Rus' - Chersonesus. This is a bridge to places of military glory. It is no coincidence that hundreds of unexploded bombs and shells were found during its construction. This is the return of once lost cultural values. More than 100 thousand scientifically significant artifacts were found during construction. They replenished the Kerch and Taman museums,” Belik said.
