A man named Akhmetov with a Russian passport was appointed to run Naftogaz’s gas business
The top manager of Rinat Akhmetov's structures, Andrey Favorov, will be appointed head of the integrated gas business of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Как Naftogaz reports on its website, Favorov will deal with issues of gas production, wholesale trade and retail sales of gas.
Naftogaz noted that Favorov is selling his stake in the ERU company to other partners and has already resigned from managing the enterprise.
From September 2010 to July 2014, Favorov served as commercial director of the DTEK energy holding (Kyiv). In 2014, he founded the Energy Resources of Ukraine company. Already in 2016, the company took second place in terms of gas imports from Europe. Since March 2017, ERU began supplying gas to Odessa Port Plant PJSC under a tolling scheme. Subsequently, Favorov stated that ERU is interested in the privatization of the OPP. In April last year, ERU Trading LLC also won the first auction for the supply of process gas to PJSC Ukrtransgaz in the amount of UAH 1,39 billion.
Ukrainian media have repeatedly written about Favorov’s Russian citizenship. This circumstance looks especially poignant against the backdrop of martial law announced yesterday and calls for the population to unite against the “Russian threat.”
