The Russians made us guest workers in our own country – Vitovskaya
Russian directors did not take Ukrainian actors to the main roles in their films, inviting them only to the crowd.
Honored Artist of Ukraine, actress Irma Vitovskaya stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel after the start of the war in Donbass defiantly refused to film in Russian TV series, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Do you know what it is to be a migrant worker in your own country? This is such an internal humiliation. The theater did not and does not have the opportunity to provide your accommodation, otherwise you cannot gain the experience of existing on camera either. Of course, what is it like to be in the lead roles with Russian actors, who are absolutely understandable why they were in the lead roles, because they are being adapted in their own country, and this series is sold there,” said the actress.
According to her, she had only two roles where “she was in the top five on a level with the Russians.”
“But I also saw colleagues who work there in small roles, although they are super professional actors. This is some kind of injustice, and you understand the reason and do not understand why it is so. Why such a big country as Ukraine, why did the Poles manage to reach their billion-dollar market? And they film there, but we cannot find the ability to launch this story ourselves,” Vitovskaya complains.
