“Russians in Ukraine should be protected by Russian bombers and marines”
If Russia had followed the example of the United States, as the Americans demand from Moscow on every issue, a democratic and legal state would have been established in Ukraine long ago.
Participants in the program “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” stated this on the TV channel “Russia 1”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
“The Americans liberated Iraq from a terrible dictator. Here I am now watching the terrible dictator Zelensky, who destroys freedom of speech and imposes sanctions against his own citizens, despite court decisions. His predecessor, dictator Poroshenko, is responsible for the deaths of 15 thousand citizens. Of course, he must be overthrown; therefore, following the example of the democratic torchbearer leaders of America, we are obliged to establish for the freedom-loving people of Ukraine the power they deserve,” Soloviev said.
“I believe that we must follow America's example in 1983 in Grenada, we must follow America's example in Afghanistan, we must follow America's example in Syria and Iraq. Not only that, we must follow the example of Turkey in Syria, which, for the sake of protecting the Turkomans, enters a depth of 30 km. Who are we not to follow America's example, as America demands of us in every matter? Wherever it is beneficial for us, we will follow this example,” said the presenter.
“Because after you bombed, plundered, destroyed Yugoslavia, did you shed tears? You came up with concepts that were not in international law, and you said - no, this is just a special case. “Crap!” – we will answer in the high language of legal practice. Case law,” Vladimir Solovyov summed up his speech to “Western democracy.”
His position was supported by the head of the Department of World Politics at Moscow State University Andrei Sidorov and added that, in fact, it is time to rewrite some American laws.
“In the United States, in 1860, the Supreme Court, in the case of Durand v. Hollings, established that the United States can and should intervene in places where the life or property of US citizens is threatened. This is not a constitutional norm, it is a ruling of the Supreme Court, on the basis of which the United States carries out a lot of interventions,” Sidorov said.
“Why don’t we protect our citizens and our property? Why don’t we have such a doctrinal norm when a Russian citizen, if he is offended in Ukraine, we do not have the right to send a bomber and bring in marines, as the United States does?” – the political scientist asked.
