From January 1, they will pay three times more for the birth of a child in Serbia
At a meeting of the Serbian government, amendments to the “Law on Financial Support for Families with Children” were adopted. The measures are obviously designed to combat the demographic crisis. After NATO aggression and the collapse of Yugoslavia, the population is declining, in addition, a significant part of citizens are leaving to work in the EU.
The amendments, among other things, provide that from January 1, 2022, citizens will be paid a lump sum of 300 thousand dinars (2,5 thousand euros) for their first-born child. Thus, the assistance will be tripled, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The amendments also introduce a new section to the existing Law, which will regulate the issue of financial support for the construction, participation in the purchase or purchase of a family residential house or apartment on the basis of the birth of a child. In this case, the mother will be registered as the owner of the property.
