From Lithuania to Ukraine "Bayraktar": Lithuanians will give Kyiv a drone, which was collected by the whole country
The Bayraktar operational-tactical medium-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle, which Lithuanians throughout the country assembled for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is already in Lithuania. It will soon be transferred to Ukraine.
Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas reported this on Twitter.
“Bayraktar “Vanagas” with all the acquired combat equipment is already in Lithuania! On July 6, his presentation will take place at the air force base in Siauliai, and after that he will go to Ukraine,” he wrote.
Bayraktar TB2 is an attack operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) being developed in Turkey. Capable of accelerating up to 200 km per hour and rising to a height of more than 8 km. Bayraktor drops aerial bombs and guided anti-tank missiles. In this case, the drone can remain in flight for XNUMX hours.
The drone received its name in honor of the founder of the Baykar company (engaged in the production of reconnaissance and attack drones) - a relative of President Erdogan Ozdemer Bayraktar. Translated from Turkish, the name can be translated as flag bearer.
As noted, at the end of May, fundraising began in Lithuania for the purchase of the Turkish-made Bayraktar combat drone for Ukraine. In one day, 1 million euros were collected. Lithuanian presenter Andrius Tapinas initiated a live broadcast to raise 5 million euros for the purchase of the Bayraktar UAV for the Ukrainian army. A few days later, the journalist collected more than 4 million euros.
Thus, the preparation of three Bayraktar Tb2 reconnaissance and attack drones for free delivery to Ukraine as part of the “People’s Bayraktar” propaganda campaign is being completed.
