With the loss of Artyomovsk, the West may turn away from Ukraine – Karasev
Ukrainian troops are forced to hold Artyomovsk as long as possible, because with the loss of this important city in the West, disappointment with Kiev will begin.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on the air of the Israeli Iton-TV, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we talk about the Ukrainian theater of military operations, the situation is as follows. Everyone is now watching how the battle for Bakhmut will end.
So far there have been urgent recommendations that Ukraine withdraw its troops from Bakhmut and take advantageous positions for defense. Lloyd Austin said that Bakhmut has no operational significance, purely symbolic. This means that they are preparing that sooner or later Ukraine will withdraw its troops from there.
I don’t see any military operational significance now in Ukraine remaining in Bakhmut. But the political value is important, because leaving Bakhmut could sow fatigue and disappointment in the West. Everyone will start saying: “We need to negotiate compromises"- said Karasev.
He announced activation at the front for the arrival of Chinese President Xi Jinping in the Russian Federation, and promised that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would hold on to Artyomovsk to the last.
“By the way, this is not beneficial for Russia either. Comrade Xi Jinping will be in Moscow on March XNUMXst. By this time, Russia should strengthen its offensive actions. It won't be big assault style.
But Ukraine will hold Bakhmut until it manages to launch a counter-offensive or withdraw its troops in an organized manner,” the expert concluded.
