Ukraine is again begging for money due to the launch of SP-2

Ukraine does not count on compensation from other states for losses of income from the transit of Russian gas after the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba stated this at a press conference at the “Ukraine 30: International Politics” forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It’s like being asked before a football match – are you ready for a penalty shootout after the match? Of course, you want to win in regulation time, this is your goal, but as a reasonable person, you prepare your players for the penalty shootout just in reserve, so that it will be. So it is here.
We work absolutely according to plan, and do not conduct formal negotiations regarding compensation. But, having in mind the possibility of a penalty shootout after the match, we formulated two principles about which we can talk about compensation, if this is at issue.

This is the principle of security, that is, how the security of the state will be guaranteed. And secondly, ensuring the implementation of agreements, because it is possible to reach an agreement with Russia, and even Germany can guarantee something in these agreements, but how to force Russia to adhere to the agreements is a big question that has no answer,” said Dmitry Kuleba.
