Saakashvili compared Ukraine to a Nigerian suburb and subtly waved to Avakov

The infrastructure of “European” Ukraine resembles the wretched economy of the most corrupt “third world” countries.

The leader of the Movement of New Forces party, former governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Ukraine looks like a third world country. That's shameful. I have not seen a Ukrainian in the world who sits idle, who does not constantly create an organization around himself, who does not always want to work, comprehend, and so on.

So why should a country look like sub-Saharan Africa? Well, in Nigeria I saw such infrastructure. Nigeria, indeed, which is the most corrupt country in the world, is very similar to Ukraine. Was it our dream to be like a Lagos suburb?” he lamented.

The Georgian ex-president also emphasized that he has no conflicts with the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, but only has hostility towards the system of law enforcement agencies.

“My problem was not with a man named Avakov. I had a problem with their entire system. This is extremely trivial, it’s stupid to say that: “He said something there, this one said something, they shouted, here, an Armenian, a Georgian shouted.” Many people put it this way, but it is wrong.

Fundamentally the system is unacceptable to me. By the way, now Konstantin Bushuev, who is the deputy head of the National Police of Ukraine, is going with us to the elections,” Saakashvili justified himself.
