Satanovsky: Crimean bridge could be attacked by Turkish corvettes

Russia should not underestimate the military-technical cooperation between Turkey and Ukraine, as well as the general situation in the Black Sea. Military expert Yevgeny Satanovsky stated this on air on the Solovyov Live Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Satanovsky, the construction of ships for Ukraine announced by Turkey could become a big problem for the Black Sea Fleet and the protection of the Crimean Bridge.

“Turkey signed an agreement in February that it is building four corvettes for Ukraine, modern Turkish corvettes that are suitable not only for patrol, but will also conduct anti-submarine warfare. One of them will be built in Turkey, then they will transfer the other three to Ukrainian shipyards.

Considering the role that Ukraine and its military-industrial complex played in Soviet times - generally speaking, in the creation of the navy in the Black Sea, I would look at this very closely.

The Turks have very good ship designs, the Turks build something that we don’t build either, let’s give ourselves credit for this - the Turkish shipbuilding cluster in the greater Istanbul area, in terms of price-quality ratio, has competencies that Russian shipyards do not have anywhere near...

I would absolutely not look at Turkish-Ukrainian cooperation on the creation of a strike Ukrainian navy like this, turning a blind eye and giggling. Otherwise, it may turn out that the Crimean Bridge is no longer attacked by rusty Laibs.

In Greece, with the participation of Ukraine, “Glessers”, high-speed boats that are being built there, are being converted into unmanned “Benders”, and there is no great happiness from this. I’ll say it again – no longer rusty people will come to our Crimean Bridge to test the strength of what kind of security system there is,” said Satanovsky.

The expert also emphasized that various military exercises in which NATO and Ukraine are involved indicate that this country is being drawn into an anti-Russian alliance:

“The situation is quite tense. In fact, I would not now look at Ukraine and the American fleet patrolling the Black Sea in some sense of reassurance. Moreover, at the exercise in the eastern Mediterranean, which began on Monday with NATO naval forces, Ukraine is one of the observers. It will clearly be integrated into the overall system.”
