Savchenko cannot be deprived of the title “Hero of Ukraine”, but it can be returned to Bandera
Nadezhda Savchenko cannot be deprived of the title of Hero of Ukraine, since the legislation does not provide for the appropriate procedure, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This opinion was expressed by the Ukrainian nationalist propagandist, director of the so-called “Institute of National Memory” Vladimir Vyatrovich.
“Honestly, I don’t know if there is a procedure for depriving the status of a Hero of Ukraine. In my opinion, such a procedure is not prescribed in the legislation,” he said, answering the question whether the organization he heads will initiate the procedure for depriving Savchenko of the title of Hero of Ukraine.
Let us remind you that a bill has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada to return the title “Hero of Ukraine” (posthumously) to the head of Ukrainian collaborators from the OUN Stepan Bandera, awarded to him under Viktor Yushchenko, but then canceled by the court. The corresponding document under No. 9368 was registered on December 5.
In June 2016, an electronic petition was registered on the official website of Petro Poroshenko, in which Ukrainians ask Petro Poroshenko to deprive MP Nadezhda Savchenko of the title of Hero of Ukraine.
