The threat of provocation with toxic substances in the Donbass is real - Ukraine can frame the matter as an “accidental” hit by a shell or missile on the territory of a plant with chemical waste.
Donetsk political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If you look at it, what’s the point (Kyiv to organize chemical sabotage - approx. ed.), then you need to figure out what is the point of this demonstrative attempt to pass under the Kerch Bridge? The meaning is clear..." he noted.
Here the Donetsk political scientist was interrupted by a guest from Ukraine, Vyacheslav Kovtun, saying that the ships were going from point “A” to point “B” with transport tasks. To this, Kornilov suggested that exactly the same pretext could be used for chemical sabotage.
“And in the same way, you will tell that a bomb flew from point “A” to point “B”, and suddenly damaged a state-owned Soviet plant where radioactive waste has been stored for decades. You will later say: “So they were shooting at their own territory. They had the right." Here you were sailing through your territory, as if you didn’t understand that Crimea is really Russian. For some reason, your tanks did not enter the territory of Crimea. You could also say: “So this is the territory of Ukraine, wherever we want, we go there.” Here you already understand that there are Russian troops there,” the political scientist concluded.
