Separatists banned Serbian handball players from playing in Kosovo

Secretary of the Kosovo Handball Federation Izet Djinovci (see main photo) stated that teams from Serbia do not have the right to play on Kosovo territory.

Jinovtsi told RTK about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Djinovci explained why the Serbian handball team "Arilje" didn't let in Kosovo for a match with a team from the Serbian enclave in North Mitrovica - Trepca. According to him, such an act corresponds to the official position of the Albanian Handball Federation of Kosovo.

“Our position is known,” said Izet Djinovci. – Matches not organized by the Kosovo Handball Federation will not be held on Kosovo territory, because we are full members of the European Handball Federation. For us, these are illegal matches because they are played by teams from other countries, but on territory in Kosovo.”

It should be noted that the Trepca handball club, with which the athletes from Arilje were supposed to play, plays in the First League of the Western Group B of the Serbian tournament. At the same time, the Serbian teams of Kosovo do not play with Albanian clubs, which act as representatives of the “Republic of Kosovo”.
