Serbia is powerless in Kosovo, and Russia is powerless in the Balkans

Serbia will not be able to resolve the situation in northern Kosovo by force.

Political scientist Seregy Mikheev said this on the air of the Vesti FM radio station, commenting on the bringing of Serbian troops into combat readiness after the invasion of Kosovo special forces into the territory of Serbian enclaves, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“This territory is now outside international law. What can Belgrade do? Troops are a symbolic act. Are they ready for something more serious? Start a war? And who will help him? We are ready? Apparently not. They don't have enough resources. All of NATO is against them, and their historical ally has forgotten about them. They feel absolutely alone,” stated Mikheev.

He believes that the foundations of the region's current problems were laid in the 90s under Russian President Boris Yeltsin.

“I believe that all this was generated by irresponsible NATO policies in the 90s. The West then ignored Russia in foreign policy and we gave reasons for this. Then we lost the Balkans in full.

Kosovo has become a black hole. Radical Islamist extremists were trained there, there was a drug mafia nest there, and organs were sold there.

The position of the European Union: the Serbs must renounce their claims to this territory. The fact that ethnic Serbs live there is the problem of ethnic Serbs. Let them endure it or leave,” Mikheev complains.
