Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, by order of the country's Supreme Prosecutor's Office, opened two criminal cases and banned entry into Serbia for eight persons who, during the LGBT event "EuroPride 2022" in Belgrade, insulted public morality with their behavior, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Employees of the Criminal Police Department, in agreement with the prosecutor's office, identified two individuals - citizens of Turkey and Italy - against whom a criminal case was opened in connection with suspicion of committing a crime - inciting national, racial and religious hatred and intolerance during EuroPride 2022. These two persons have been put on the international wanted list because they are unavailable to Serbian investigative authorities.
Also, in agreement with the Supreme Prosecutor's Office for Cybercrime, all measures will be taken to further combat individuals who have posted extremist posts addressed to representatives of the LGBT community on the social networks Instagram and Twitter (banned in the Russian Federation).
Serbian police intend to charge these individuals with suspicions that they have committed a criminal offense related to a security threat.
True, there were few participants, and most of them were Western diplomats and journalists. At the same time, the police did not allow opponents of the gay pride parade to the event site.
