The situation in the Balkans remains alarming

In parallel with positive changes, such as the summoning of the “Prime Minister” of the self-proclaimed Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, to the Special Court in The Hague, negative trends continue in European policy in the Balkans.

Political scientist Alexey Martynov told PolitNavigator about this.

“I would like to think that thanks to Macron's intervention, common sense is returning to European policy in the Balkans. But at the same time, we see what efforts are being made by various pro-American centers in Europe and some European countries to incite a conflict situation around Kosovo and Serbia. Decent money is allocated for so-called counter-propaganda and the fight against “Russian influence” in the Balkans.

Just yesterday, a well-known think tank in Prague released a report recommending that counter-propaganda be strengthened. The situation remains alarming,” Martynov said.

On July 19, Ramush Haradinaj resigned. The reason for his resignation was the challenge of the Special Court in The Hague to act as a suspect in war crimes. The brother of ex-militant Daut Haradinaj also received similar calls.
