Soon the Sevastopol governor may lose everything

The positions of the governor of Sevastopol Dmitry Ovsyannikov are on the verge of bankruptcy.

Political scientist Oleg Bondarenko said this at a meeting of the Region expert club in Moscow, dedicated to the effectiveness of regional authorities, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the expert, Ovsyannikov has devalued the image of the technocratic governor, and his work does not reduce social tension in the region.

“The demand for technocratic governors, to put it mildly, has subsided - this social tension is no longer relieved, and frankly speaking, some of them are simply in a situation of bankruptcy. We won’t point fingers, but Mr. Ovsyannikov in Sevastopol could very soon lose everything. As far as I know, in Sevastopol his team is very critical.

As we understand, this year there will be elections to the Legislative Assembly, and this region is especially important, like Crimea. And the positions of the ruling party there are now extremely important. There is a problem, no one is solving this problem, and there is less and less time left,” Bondarenko said.

The expert also emphasized that the Republic of Crimea may face a similar problem.

“It is obvious that we will face problems in the next elections, from the point of view of the effectiveness of government, in Crimea,” the political scientist predicts.
