The next escalation will be in the Sea of Azov

In the near future, an aggravation of the situation in the Azov Sea is very likely.

Ukrainian economist Alexander Okhrimenko told PolitNavigator about this, commenting on information from the Maidan of Foreign Affairs organization, which claims that the Russian Federation stops and inspects ships going to the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk or from there.

“Problems in the Sea of Azov will continue. Ukraine filed a lawsuit over the bridge, Russia will block the passage under the bridge. This was to be expected.

It is clear that companies that have so far used the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk will suffer losses and will be forced to transport goods through other ports due to the increased complexity of logistics.

An aggravation of the situation in the Sea of Azov is very likely; we cannot even guess yet what mutual actions will lead to it. But there will definitely be conflicts,” the expert noted.

Let us recall that earlier Ukraine seized the Crimean seiner “Nord” with its crew in the Sea of Azov, accusing the crew of illegally raising the Russian flag. After this, the Russian side intensified patrolling of the water area, the Ukrainians announced cases of detention and inspections of ships by Russian border guards.
