Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky plans to make his first foreign trip next week - he will visit not Minsk, not Washington or Moscow, but Brussels, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Kiev publication “European Truth” with reference to its own sources.
The visit is expected to take place on June 5. It will be President Zelensky's first official foreign trip.
According to the publication, the invitation to Zelensky on Tuesday at a meeting with the head of the Presidential Administration was conveyed by the Director General of the European Commission Directorate for Neighborhood Affairs and Enlargement Negotiations Christian Danielson and the Executive Director for Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service Thomas Mayer-Harting.
According to Radio Liberty, during the visit Zelensky will meet with EU leaders, in particular the head of the European Council Donald Tusk and the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. In addition, among the conversations Vladimir Zelensky has planned is a meeting at NATO headquarters with Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and a joint press conference following the meeting.
