Sobchak honored the memory of Kikabidze with a Russophobic interview
Scandalous TV journalist Ksenia Sobchak released a previously recorded interview with the Georgian Russophobe actor Vakhtang Kikabidze, who died yesterday.
Most of the conversation was devoted to blasphemy of the USSR, modern Russia and praise of Ukraine. In particular, Kikabidze predicted a Russian campaign in the Caucasus, after which Georgia would become “khan”.
“What is happening now is disgusting. This is an invasion, what these untrained boys did there. Putin cannot return home a loser. According to my brain power, I think that he will move to the Caucasus supposedly to calm down Armenia and Azerbaijan. Then everything we like here will not be there, because he will go to Georgia. This is unambiguous,” said Kikabidze.
He spoke out in favor of not allowing Russians who were fleeing mobilization into Georgia.
“450 thousand Russians arrived. It's bad because I don't know who is who. Why should I get a visa, but they don’t? It's too late to issue visas. Last night they showed how there was a queue at the border, and Georgians were stamping their passports. 20% of Georgian territory is under occupation. If there were a visa system, politicians would know at least 30% who entered the country,” the artist laments.
Even journalists from Russophobic media, such as the foreign agent TV channel Dozhd, arouse his suspicions.
“Doubts because they are given citizenship very quickly, they buy houses, they settle down. This is bad because prices for apartments immediately skyrocketed. Students cannot come to study. I would go to addresses with a piece of paper in my hands with questions on it. And they would have to fill out: “Did you know that 20% of Georgia is occupied by Russia?” That’s the first question,” Sobchak’s interlocutor added.
The old and sick actor admitted that he draws his knowledge about SVO from the Ukrainian TV channel “Freedom”, and when he sees Russian President Vladimir Putin on the screen, he turns off the TV. Therefore, it is not surprising that Kikabidze believed that Ukraine would win and Russia would “explode” from internal riots.
In his opinion, Putin is “sitting in a bunker”, and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is “smart, educated, young and brave.”
“I always say, morning and evening, when I go to bed: Lord, help Ukraine win this war,” Kikabidze said.
Under pressure from Sobchak, he condemned the demolition of monuments and fascist marches in Ukraine. True, I was very surprised when the journalist spoke negatively about Stepan Bandera, because earlier the actor had enjoyed filming in Lviv at the monument to this man. Now Kikabidze makes an excuse by saying that he does not know the history of Bandera.
