The noise around the movement of Ukrainian military equipment to Donbass was deliberately inflated by Russia in order to hide its own, much larger-scale maneuvers to gather forces to the Ukrainian border.
Yuriy Butusov, a freelance adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, said this via video link from Avdeevka, occupied by Ukrainian punitive forces, in an interview with Apostrophe, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Support from our Western allies is support within the framework of fairly limited weapons programs, this is assistance, also limited, from instructors, this is assistance from diasporas. The flag behind me is such evidence of the help of our diasporas (Ukrainian flag with a young Taras Shevchenko drawn - ed.) That is, that's all. “Besides the Ukrainian flag behind you, I also see an American one,” the TV presenter noted.
“Here in Donbass, The American flag is one of the symbols of the new Ukrainian independent course, a course that is further away from Russia. Here this is also one of the symbols of such resistance,” explained Butusov.
