Coincidence? After the introduction of martial law, night sales of alcohol were banned

In Sumy, local authorities have banned the night trade in alcohol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was reported by the local publication “Panorama”.

The Sumy City Council on Wednesday, November 28, approved a ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages in shops and kiosks from 22:00 to 7:00. 35 out of 36 deputies present voted in favor.

Now you can buy alcoholic drinks only from 7:00 to 22:00. The ban does not apply to restaurants.

The ban applies to beer (except non-alcoholic), alcoholic and low-alcohol drinks, as well as table wines. However, the ban does not apply to catering establishments - restaurants, cafes, bars and cafeterias.

It is reported that the decision will come into force after publication in the official Bulletin of the Sumy City Council.

At the same time, in pursuance of Petro Poroshenko’s decree on introducing martial law in the area, a Defense Council was created in the city and checkpoints were deployed, as PolitNavigator previously reported.
