Five years after the Russian Spring, Lenin is already being sculpted from Konstantinov

The Chairman of the State Council of Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, was compared to the leader of the world proletariat, Vladimir Lenin. This is how Deputy Chairman of the State Council Efim Fiks described the activities of his colleague Konstantinov as head of the Crimean parliament during the “Russian Spring,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We sat in the hall of the Supreme Council at that moment and voted, a very important state. Let me remember one story: Lenin said six words and turned the world upside down. Konstantinov said five words: “Trust me, everything will be fine.” And we voted. There was a militia on the street that ensured this vote for us,” recalls Fix on the Crimea 24 TV channel.

He also praised the current head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, who in February 2014 led a rally of Russian supporters outside the walls of the State Council.

“Two people - one on the street raised the people, the second in the hall ensured legal purity, legitimacy of the solution to the issue... Two leaders came together - Aksenov and Konstantinov, who managed to mobilize people, each in their own area and create legitimacy,” said Fix.
