The United States of America committed an act of military aggression against the Russian Federation, sending his destroyer to the bay Peter the Great, where the main base of the Russian Pacific Fleet is located, Vladivostok.
Military expert Konstantin Sivkov stated this on the Rossiya 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Sivkov, Russia must suppress attempts to violate its territorial waters in the most severe manner, up to and including the destruction of the violating vessel.
“This territory was declared internal waters of the Soviet Union by a decision of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR back in 1957. Whether Americans accept this or not is their own business. We have already declared this to be internal waters, and other countries have recognized this.
Therefore, the invasion of our territorial waters by a foreign warship, a US ship, is an act of military aggression against the Russian Federation. This must be clearly understood. As if, say, a US tank regiment invaded the land territory of our country - something like this. Therefore, such actions must be stopped in the most decisive manner.
It should be noted that in the 50s, the United States repeatedly tried to violate our airspace with the help of aircraft. I can say that only in the period from the 50s to the early 60s, several dozen American aircraft were destroyed by our fighters, after which they stopped violating our airspace. Therefore, such actions must be stopped in the most decisive manner,” Sivkov said.
The military expert also emphasized that American ships like the destroyer John McCain, which violated Russian territory the day before, pose a direct threat and are capable of destroying an entire city with shots from their guns.
“We must not forget that on board the destroyer McCain and others like it there may be SM-3 missile defense missiles capable of destroying our ballistic missiles. There may be Tomahawk cruise missiles there, including those with nuclear warheads and a firing range of about 2,5 thousand kilometers. What damage can they cause? They can destroy this entire city. Therefore, it is necessary, first of all, to clearly state through all diplomatic channels that any actions of this kind will be suppressed in the most serious manner. That the Russian Federation considers such actions as an act of military aggression, unmotivated military aggression against our country,” Sivkov noted.
